Sehat.

Privacy Policy.

Effective 4 August 2026

The short version

Sehat is a calorie counter, not a lead list. We collect only what the app needs to work, we never sell your data, we never use your health data for advertising, and nobody from Sehat will ever call you. You can delete your account and your data from inside the app at any time.

The rest of this page explains the details in plain English.

Who we are

Sehat is an Indian calorie counter for iPhone and Android, and the website getsehat.app, operated by Abdul Rahim Ansari, based in India. This policy covers both apps and the website. Where something applies to only one of them, it says so.

Questions about anything here go to info@getsehat.app. We reply by email. We do not make calls.

What we collect

Everything below exists because a feature needs it. There is no hidden collection.

  • Account information

When you sign in with Google or Sign in with Apple, we receive your name and email address. That is what identifies your account.

  • Food logs and macro history

The dishes you log, the portions you choose, and the calorie and macro history the app builds from them.

  • Weight and body metrics

Weight entries and other body measurements you record to track progress.

  • Medicines you choose to add

If you add medicines so the AI can give you better answers, we store that list. Adding them is always optional.

  • Health documents you upload

Documents such as blood reports that you upload to give the AI context. These stay in your account and are used only for you.

  • Voice recordings for food logging

When you log food by voice, the recording is processed to text so we can work out what you ate. We keep the text, not the audio.

  • Apple Health activity on iPhone, if you connect it

Active energy, resting energy, steps, exercise minutes, distance and heart rate, read from Apple Health so the app can show burned and net calories. Read only, and entirely optional. Full detail in the Apple Health section below. The Android app does not read Health Connect or any other fitness source.

  • Device information and crash data

Basic device details and crash reports so we can find and fix bugs. This is diagnostic data, not tracking for ads.

Where your data lives

Sehat runs on Google Firebase. Your account is handled by Firebase Authentication, your logs and health context are stored in Firestore, and uploaded documents are stored in Firebase Storage.

Firebase servers may be located outside India. Google acts as our infrastructure provider and processes data on our instructions, protected by Google Cloud security standards.

Apple Health, on iPhone only

This whole section is about the iPhone app. The Android app does not connect to Health Connect, Google Fit, or any other fitness source, and does not read activity data at all.

If you connect Apple Health, Sehat reads a small set of activity measurements so it can show what you burned alongside what you ate, and work out your net calories for the day.

Sehat reads active energy, resting energy, steps, exercise minutes, walking and running distance, and heart rate. That is the complete list.

Sehat only reads from Apple Health. It never writes anything back, and it never changes or deletes what is already there.

Connecting Apple Health is optional and the app works without it. You choose which measurements to share when you connect, and you can change or withdraw that permission at any time in the iPhone Settings app under Privacy and Security, then Health, then Sehat. If you withdraw it, Sehat simply stops seeing that data.

When you ask the AI coach a question, the activity figures read from Apple Health may be included in the context sent for processing, in the same way as your macro history. This is what lets the coach answer using your actual day rather than generic advice. The section below explains how that processing works and who handles it.

  • Apple Health data is never used for advertising or marketing.
  • Apple Health data is never sold, and never shared with data brokers or advertisers.
  • Apple Health data is never used to build profiles of you for anyone other than you.

How AI processing works

Sehat's smart features are powered by Google's Gemini API, a third-party AI service. When you use them, the relevant data is sent to Google for processing: the food photos you scan, what you type or say when logging food (voice is sent as audio and kept as text), your chat and live-voice conversations with the coach, and any photo you attach to a message. The AI resolves what dish you meant, works out portions, and answers your questions.

To personalise answers, the health context you have chosen to share is included in that processing. That can mean your profile (age, sex, height, weight, goals, diet preference, conditions and allergies), your macro history, the medicines you added, information from reports you uploaded, and Apple Health activity if you connected it. This is the whole point of the feature: the AI answers with your context, not generic advice. If you do not add medicines or reports, they simply are not there.

The app asks for your permission before any of this is sent, the first time you use it, and you can withdraw that permission at any time in Settings → AI processing. The AI features simply switch off, and manual logging keeps working. Google processes this data as a service provider to answer your request; it is not used to show you ads and is protected under Google Cloud's API terms, which provide protections equivalent to those in this policy.

One important line: AI answers in Sehat are informational. They are not medical advice, and they are not a substitute for a doctor. For medical decisions, talk to a qualified professional.

What we never do

This is the core promise of Sehat, in writing.

  • We never sell your personal data. To anyone, for any price.
  • We never use your health data for advertising.
  • We never share your data with data brokers.
  • We never make sales calls and we never spam you. Nobody from Sehat will ever call you.

How long we keep data, and how to delete it

We keep your data for as long as your account exists, because that is what makes your history useful to you.

You can delete your account from inside the app, on iPhone and on Android, under Settings then Delete account. It takes effect immediately, and backups are cleared within 30 days.

If you have already removed the app or cannot sign in, ask us on the delete your account page, or email info@getsehat.app from your account address. We confirm by email first, then delete.

That page also lists exactly what is deleted, and the three narrow things we are required to keep: billing and tax records, anonymous usage counts, and backups that have already been written.

Your rights

If you are in India, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 gives you the right to access your personal data, correct it, have it erased, and raise a grievance about how it is handled. Email info@getsehat.app for any of these and we will respond. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may escalate to the Data Protection Board of India.

If you are outside India, we extend the same rights in the style of the GDPR: access, correction, erasure, and the right to object to processing. Same email, same handling.

Sehat is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update this page and the effective date at the top. For meaningful changes, we will tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. We will not quietly weaken the promises above.
